Had the rehab evaluation at Cincy on Tuesday. The doctors were fairly optimistic that she can do well with the least level of treatment. Of course that means that we go next week to have her fitted for walking braces and sleep braces to stretch her muscles. She will then start physical therapy, occupational therapy and eventually speech therapy. In addition, she will need an mri to see which parts of her brain are damaged. Then there will be a hip x-ray to see how they are aligned. Finally, she still needs to have 8 more vials of blood drawn. :( They tried to get the blood on Tuesday, but blew the vein in her left arm and missed on the right. After 2 tries, I vetoed any additional attempts. The testing may have to occur over time as I'm not sure they can get all that blood at once. I also found out that Miss Priya really is putting on weight - it's not just my imagination. She has gained 2 1/2 lbs. since we've been home.
Welcome
This blog is dedicated to the journey to add Priyanjali to our family. Hopefully the blog will proceed quickly as the adoption goes fast. More realistically, this will allow you to keep up with what is happening, even when it is occurring as a snail's pace. Here's to settling in for the long road to making our family of two a family of three. We're prepared for the long wait, but praying that everything goes swiftly. Due to privacy concerns, please do not publish any information on this blog to facebook or any other open media site. Thank you.
